I made this from some steel that I got from the liquidation sale of the Camillus Cutlery factory. It is high carbon steel but I ma not sure of the composition. I suspect it is 1095 steel. It takes a good, hard edge but like all carbon steels it will rust if not kept clean and oiled.
I ground it with a full convex grind meaning it is a continuous taper from the spine to the edge. It is a nice lightweight camper with a beautiful Olive wood handle.
